What's in the mailbox? 📬 📦

I may be mistaken but I think it was discontinued a few years ago but got back in production. It’s every bit as good as my old one (except the old on had a upgrade on the pickups, I put a Lollar pair of p90s, but the stock ones are quite good)
They dropped the rosewood fretboard on the newer ones. I don't think they moved production though. As in. I believe the rosewood models were Chinese made as well.

I clicked Dual/Duo-Phase @77€ price to my cart when ordering some jacks, cable and guitar string sets from Thomann. Saddly estimated stock time is 6-8 weeks.

Technically in yesterday's mailbox. Here's a couple of boards that @szukalski whipped up for me.
I've been sitting on the gerbers for a while since shipping from JLCPCB was like $38 for a $2 order.

I finally broke down and ordered them from OshPark, which was overall cheaper because shipping was free. But only 3 boards.

Anyway, on the right is the "Fat Sheep" based on the Demeter MB2 Fat Control. The is sold by Demeter both as a pedal as well as an onboard circuit. I slapped it together yesterday and absolutely LOVE IT! It obviates the need for a humbucker equipped strat as it can make a single coil sound very close to a hot P90 or HB. Very cool!

On the left is the "Butter Lamb". This is Dave's take on the Vemuram Butter Machine. I've built this on a board from another layout I got off FSB.

Looking forward to building this one out. I've really been taking a liking to a lot of the Vemuram pedals. The Butter Machine is a Michael Landau-in-a-box. Love it.

Coffee/Espresso *EASY BUTTON*. I've been making coffee with the microwave and a SS coffee funnel. P.I.T.A. but good.

I wanted the easy button and it'll be here on Friday. Also switched from TJ's whole beans to Folgers four years ago to save money. Switching back to Trader Joe's espresso blend whole bean.

This is a Kitchen Aid KF6 with a 2 year warranty. You pour in water and beans, it grinds it with a conical burr grinder, packs up to 15g of coffee, and it makes up to 15 different types of java from espresso to coffee with or without milk/half n half. It's a touch screen interface with a color display. I actually got the lowest price model with less fru-fru options.

It tells you when to clean it too. Nice. I had a smaller fully automatic espresso/coffee machine 25 years ago that died after about 10 years when I failed to clean it regularly. I have really REALLY missed the one button instant labor free coffee since then.

Again, I'm seriously old and IT'S TIME TO SPEND MY LIFE'S SAVINGS. Goal is to die with a zero balance lmao....

Unit, you make your own bread and build your own amps. You're retired and have all day. But making coffee is so much of a chore that you need a $1500 device to mend the 2 ingredients together for ya?
S Sorry, but the irony isn't lost. 🤣
You do you man. Enjoy it. Just make sure you use good filtered water or we will see that machine in the workbench thread in 6 months time.

Your posts are straying further and further away from PEDALS!

Phones, now coffee-makers, what's next — cuticle-cutters? 😹

When was the last time you posted something about an amp, even? 🤪

BTW, got any interesting new apparatus for making bread? I sincerely LOAF 😻 those posts...

😘♥️

It has an internal water filter!!! I bought it from Kitchenaid direct and got the senior citizen discount of 15%, so with taxes total was about a grand. It's going on the table in the back room where Loraine and I hang. Just the whole thing of being 40 seconds away from a fresh cuppa is wonderful!

I know, I have to finish off the Bassman. Just wire up the rectifier and drill the chassis and handle holes in the cab and it's done, lol.

I did just make bread on Sunday. Great loaves!

Water filter? My iPhone 15 Pro doesn't have that!

Wait, are you still talking about your iPhone?

No, I'm on a roll here. First the iPhone 16 Pro Max, and now the Kitchenaid fully automatic espresso/coffee machine. And next, unfortunately, I have to have the differential rebuilt on my Dodge Ram. I did not know differentials were so expensive to rebuild, gulp....

Between the coffee and the phone, no way you're gonna have time to build any pedals.
So you belong here haha

I like cool specialty tools. Even when they're not completely economical. So, I grabbed these Excelta 907-89B dog leg pliers.
They have a couple of models that will bend the leads 90° and shear the lead off just after the bend. Specifically designed to bend and trim component legs pre soldering. Super cool. Super niche. I'm keen to find some of those but new list on most of their stuff is $200-350. The 923e cutters a handful of us grabbed for 90 cents before the seller wised up and upped the price are $85 new!

Those look awesome, but what are they for? Is the spacing right to do this bend on a to-92?
