Babies first component tester! Purchased on Amazon from a listing that said it has the ATmega328 chip, but it has an unbranded chip of course. I tested some transistors and resistors and caps against my multimeter and it seems to be working fine so I guess it's not an issue.

I'll be putting it through the paces further tomorrow when my Tayda order comes in!

Got these in the mail. My phone’s brilliant AI has identified them as broad beans, but I’m inclined to believe that they’re actually Excelta 9231E cutters. Some of the handles got a bit messed up in the bag thanks to some interesting packing choices, but with that said, they’re really not all that bad for 90¢ cutters. Thanks for the find, @jwin615!

By the time I clicked on the link they'd fixed the price :-( I still got a pair anyway.

They’re still a great deal at $10. None of mine had any visible imperfections on the metal parts. I only got 10 because it was cheap insurance against the risk of getting ones with damaged blades. I doubt that I’ll use even half of them before I die of old age at the end of the century.

I have several pairs from other mfgrs. Seems to be the one tool I'm always loosing *while I'm working with it* only to find it in the kitchen hours later.... lol...

Still a good deal.
They do have quite a bit of fling to them. Sent a few components legs into low earth orbit.
I like the grips on my Engineer snips a little better. But even those were over twice the price you payed
I'm going to file the tips down on the pair I put on the bench. Very stabby. I could see potentially scratching straight through a trace with them with little effort.

Oooh, they went back to a rotary temperature control? Nice.

I hung on to my old FX-888 forever because I didn't want to "upgrade" to the FX-888D with push buttons.
Yeah I believe it’s a digital encoder but works as expected. Never liked the idea of the push buttons but when I saw they released an updated version I was on board.

We had a major house remodel finish recently and now I am finally in my 'studio' space. I have basement workshop with things like a drill press, scroll saw, miter saw etc, but I don't like to spend a ton of time down there so I had a "portable" setup for pedal and amp projects. I've toyed with the idea of using a mechanic cart for a while, and this came home in my vehicle (technically not in the mailbox):

I am really digging it! Obviously part storage is it's own thing haha, this is just tools and some material. My part storage/hoard is out of control. I still have a ton of that in my basement along with a built-in in this new space.

I have a cheap drill press vise already but I don't use it much because it's pain to setup. I ordered this Chinese bad boy and it came missing the clamp arm but otherwise the fit and finish was really good. I put together a clamp arm from a few parts I had around. I wouldn't mind a 2nd so I can have one in each area I do work in.

I splurged on a proper set of Greenlee radio punches that match Belton socket sizes, and a modern ball bearing draw stud. I'll likely only use the octal size one a handful of times before I die haha. I've already made use of the 3/4" one and it's great. A step up from rota broach quality holes even.

Lastly some Canare 4S11 and Rean neutrik plugs to make a couple of speaker cab cables. The 4S11 is girthy!
