Those are old UTCs though, the mojo has to count for something.

The TO-92's from LCSC will come out closer to 4 cents after tariffs and everything else is tacked on so it's not a bad deal considering the listing is for 1000pcs of each.

I don't know, I might grab a bag... they're the sort of thing you don't care about until they're gone... like 2N5089's. :ROFLMAO:

(Besides, those other guys are selling them for almost a buck each)

Blue Rocket?
Makes me think of Bezos' Penisship.
No mojo there.
Anti-mojo infact.

Here I was thinking Blue Rocket was a knock-off Viagra....

Curious why you'd choose BLUE ROCKET though? ... GOODWORK sounds much more promising, at least in the context of electronic components.

Realistically though, I've never had a problem with any of the "Asian Brands" from LCSC.

Oh GOOD, it WORK. Where my mind goes....
I had no idea there were Sam's Choice C1815s out there. I know there's one option for through hole at DigiMouse. The KC1815 maybe?

I do wonder how cheaper BJTs perform and hold up—if that's even a concern anymore. I have both Toshiba and no name 1815s, and their gain range is comparable, but I don't have proper tools to measure anything beyond "hFE go brrrrrr"

Toshiba is out of the game. I'm not sure if central makes them, but it's likely.

What I'm driving at is: cheap/clone ICs are bad news, but dudes that apply to comparably simpler semiconductors? Anyway, I'm continuing to drive us further off topic ridge.

There is a difference between a clone and a counterfeit.

There are loads of clones out there, Unisonic does lots for example, and they perform in spec to their datasheets in my limited experience.

Counterfeit products are a different story and usually have a different part which has been relabeled.
