TO-5 Sockets

I knew saving those pins from bits of broken SIP would come in handy.

The only thing about individual pins is they aren't as robust as three in a miniature hockey-puck.

No kidding! I was testing diodes and some how broke a leg off of one of the SIP sockets. Ended up ruining my Marigold. Can't wait to get my 2nd PCB in the mail tomorrow and resurrect that amazing circuit.

The broken pin socket was right next to a TO-5 socket with a OC140 in it. The heat must have transfered to the TO-5 socket while I was trying to desolder the broken pin and the OC140 must have fried, because the pedal works fine with other transistors, and I can't get a reading on the OC. Such a bummer because that OC had the perfect specs for that circuit. 1st time I've ever fries a transistor.

Remove the plastic from the inline sockets and solder them separately. Looks nice.

Not sure what you mean? The measurements are exactly the same as you find inside the plastic encased headers.

or, breadboard the circuit first, pick your favourites, THEN solder it to a board.

Haha good. Cause I ordered some anyway in case they just sent you the wrong ones by mistake. Planning to use them on a lazy breadboard system I've been developing.

Me too, love feedback. I suggest an instant kill-switch and/or comp-limiter — those feedback loops can get out of hand quite quickly... WHA...? Shrieking causing premature deafness, I say.
