20% off everything, I see Members sneaking across to have a look may be on the agenda!
Now if there was something closer to Home that may spark an Influx, ie 20% ......

Well there's already a 15% coupon here on pedalpcb xD.
Even if pedalpcb has gotten 90% of my PCB purchases this past year, I still look around other board makers ^^.

don't people know about Dead End FX? they've had the Lovetone stuff for several years. Only drawback is they're in Canada so shipping can take a while. Not a bad thing if we have more weird, obscure pedal boards available stateside

FINALLY a meatball layout that doesn't have rotaries crowding the footswitch!

I still think "Mode" should've been an on-on-on toggle instead of rotary, but whatever — I'll take it!

AND I did. Right away.

As far as I know PedalPCB doesn't make a Meatball substitute yet.

PedalPCB's Cheesemonger certainly has an advantage with using a 2P4T compact switch over Fuzz Dog's 3P4T Stinky Cheese, but at least Aion's Monolith is using a daughterboard for the 3P4T switch, which is a bit easier to accommodate in a build.

There's room enough in the market for different suppliers putting their different takes on circuits. Some are faithful to the original circuit, some will make improvements on known faults (such as adding a boost onto a circuit known to weaken the signal).

There are boards for radial caps where another PCB supplier might use axial for fun/mojo... some PCB suppliers have ridiculously large layouts for simple circuits* , some copy the original pedal's knob layout some don't...

Depending on what I want to accomplish and what's available, I don't have any guilt for any PCB shopping — I buy from here (just got the Electrovibe and VIIB), but I also buy from "there".

*(@slowpogo DEFX for example! Most people here know of DE and the other major PCB players. Personally, I don't like DE's meatball layout. Also been Lovetone stuff on Oshpark for ages. Didn't know Digi2T & PMowdes were based out of Canada, thanks for that info! DEFX has a great number of projects I'm keen to pull the trigger on)

@Bobbyd67 — what's the I5 preamp?

I love the deadend stuff (haven’t done any of the Lovetone boards tho— Lovetone stuff has never really excited me tbh) but they tend to be pretty large projects. I can see why Aion doing the Lovetone stuff might be more exciting to some since it brings those circuits to a seemingly smaller footprint (big cheese in a 125B vs a 125BBS; Meatball in a 1590XX vs a 1590D, etc)

@Feral Feline - it’s a badass preamp

https://aionfx.com/project/l5-preamp/

It’s the preamp from a Moog amp from the 70s and 80s. BB King played one. It’s been on my mind for ages but I can’t justify it at the moment. @Bobbyd67 - we need some build reports for those builds because all four are pretty incredible.
I’m surprised I never noticed that one among Aion’s selection. I’ll definitely have to pick one of those boards up in the near future— those Lab Series amps were pretty crazy! I’m already brainstorming what kind of connector I could use in place of the standard 2.1mm barrel jack so I don’t accidentally fry anything with 9VAC

Well now I know a bunch of folks who ain't invited to MY Christmas party!! And I thought we were friends.... 🤬

I kid of course. Aion has some nice looking stuff, I wouldn't blame anyone for wandering a bit.... you'll come back home when ya hungry. :ROFLMAO:

May be for 3 days only, nudge nudge ;) ;) !!!

There's a 15% coupon active right now (until midnight). I wasn't really planning to get involved in a gas station war.

With that said... there might be something else coming up in a few days. After all, PedalPCB turns four years old next Saturday. 🎂

I read that as upper-case "i", ie i5...
...and I HAVE the L5!

Me-thunkered "What? What's an 'i5'? I'm familiar with all the Aion, what's this 'i5'? Is it new, when was it released?"
Somehow there was a disconnect... 🤪
Maybe I hadn't had my morning ☕, maybe I should switch to high-test 🥃.

'Course, I'm building my L5 as an L4...

I once heard/read/whatever...
"Doesn't matter where you get your appetite, so long as you go home for dinner".

Didn't know we were going to have cake! 🍰🎇🎉🎁🪅

ARRGH! Mode IS an on-on-on...

One of the other rotaries on the original could've should've been a toggle. Can't remember now which one, but I read about it somewhere way back when I first looked at the circuit.

"Range" is the only one that needs to be a rotary (or a slider) 4P3T
