PedalPCB 5-Loop True Bypass Switcher

My primary reasons for favoring Tayda are:

1) Automated web based interface (back and forth email correspondence just ain't my thing)
2) They'll most likely carry every other component needed for the build
3) It's easier for customers who aren't based in the USA

Nothing against AmplifyFun whatsoever, and when the project is available you'll have the option of taking the drill template there.... but for me, especially during the prototyping phase, the automated interface is a tremendous time saver.
I really appreciate you using Tayda, because as an European I feel like there just is no other option for me for printing and drilling services. If they stopped operating for some reason I might try looking into ordering in bulk from AmplifyFun or something like that to see if that could get the costs reasonable, but more probably I would have to start drilling myself and using film free transfers or something like that instead. Tayda saves a ton of effort and gets me good results for very affordable prices.

I always thought it was expensive to ship and pay for customs? What do you pay for a printed 125b including shipping etc

125B enclosure $6-8 depending on the color, drill service $4.50, UV print + gloss combined is $6 ($5 if you order 5 enclosures at once). Bigger enclosures cost a bit more.

So custom drilled and printed is around 20€ (notice currency change) with taxes and shipping (assuming I order the ~150€ total order so shipping is divided by multiple pedals). Pre-drilled PPCB enclosure cuts out the custom drill cost (and is barely more expensive than the non-drilled painted pedal), so ~15€ maybe?

From what I can see, AmplifyFun doesn't post official prices publicly, but from a 2021 post on these forums they should be around the same general level as Tayda, maybe a dollar or two more expensive, assuming prices haven't risen. But the shipping is the real kicker, an order of 5 125B's and one 1590BB2 plus a bag of components cost me $7.50 in shipping from Tayda.

I don't know what shipping from AmplifyFun to Finland would be, but I'm betting it's going to be a lot more than $1.50 per pedal or so for a small order. Plus the prices for most components on Tayda are more or less the cheapest I've found too, so ordering components at the same time again saves me on shipping.

Edit: Side note, there's no customs to Finland, only the VAT which I would have to pay for anything I order outside the ETA - which I also have to pay for shipping, so larger shipping costs hurt there too.

Edit2: Just for reference, shipping 4 PCB's in the tiny envelope to Finland from PPCB is $13.

I have a Joyo PXL-Pro and have tried a bunch of others, like the Boss switcher and the loop input buffers mess with my FET based pedals when other pedals with buffers are engaged in the same memory program selection (Klon, delay with tails, etc.).

Can can bypass the buffers on the PXL-Pro easily. It’s reversible as well. You just jump the input and outputs of the buffers with a single wire.

Really great deal at the current discount ($140). It has just enough midi flexibility, and not many extra bells and whistles. The buffer bypass is handy. I’ve even thought of getting a 2nd one.

One thing people might not like is that it’s like using an interface from the 1980-90s. There’s only a 3-digit 7-segment display. So you kind of need the manual at first, but it’s simple enough that it’s easy to remember most functions.

I appreciate the tip! I haven't gotten around to peek inside to see what can be done in that regard. Not sure if it is a discrete device, like a transistor or FET, or an SMD op amp.

If I skip the looper-switcher's input, the pedals behave better. Using the standard buffered input sounds bad with a few pedals, and even worse with those pedals when my delay (Dunlop EP-3 Echoplex) and reverb (EHX Holy Grail) are also engaged. It gets a few dB louder and harsh. Definitely a impedance loading problem.

There is an identical Unity gain opamp buffer on the input of Loop 1 and the output of loop 8.

I think there is a thread here in the forums documenting my bypassing the input loop.

I literally just purchased an ES-5 on reverb for obvious reasons but also for MIDI. I was concerned about buffered loops but from what I read you can turn off the buffers on the input and each loop independently. I hope that is the case..
