I've never seen this before, but damn that's smart. I'm assuming installing resistors/diodes vertically it's to make it easier to:
a) probe
b) remove

Heat dissipation and physical real estate.

It's pretty common to see higher wattage resistors installed vertically to prevent damage to the board if/when they heat up.

It's kinda annoying when it comes to tracing because the end I need to measure is always the (inaccessible) one on the bottom...

Yeah, 8th watt resistors are horrible, so damn tiny.

I have some projects which I was about to order stuff from tayda, but does anyone knows what is going to happen if I order now with the "de minimis" thing? or it is only for China??

Also... I wanted to start new proyects like the son of ben and it is out of stock

Tayda currently offers only DHL shipping that includes tariffs. It adds about 20% to the overall cost--so, cost of items + ~20% tariffs + shipping cost. The shipping cost seems to decrease with order amount, like before. Tariff, of course, increases with the order amount.

That's what I thought too. Maybe DHL is OK with doing DDP shipments, and not the kind where they get to charge the recipient the tariffs plus the broker's fee. I'm definitely going to defer any overseas ordering, because, who knows.

Last I heard DHL isn't doing import shipments, but if they are, that's something.

I believe DHL's Express Service *is* doing imports w/ tariffs, while standard DHL is presently pausing shipments into the US because of the orange guy's new tariffs on de minimus shipments.
