    Vintage electronic carillonic bells

Years ago I fixed up/MacGyver’d a Rhodes. A mouse had chewed a few of the shoelace-type ropes that connects the keys to the hammers. The photos of that Carillon brings back the smell of that Rhodes. Luckily not the Mouse Poop. Thank you for posting them.

    I thought the same thing.

Octarock with an oct up switch.

Yes. I did remove the toggle switch washers. In both builds. Having the small 9mm pots helped with space too. Here’s a photo of the board and off-board pots, and the guts. I’m thinking I may build a third Octarock, because the second wasn’t perfect. Neither was the first. The third bowl of...

Octarock with an oct up switch.

Here’s another Octarock. With the second switch to disengage the upper octave. But this one is in the taller enclosure. And It’s labeled, cause I will be selling this one to a friend.

Now Playing... What are you Listening to Right Now?

I enjoy going through the back log of this thread too. I’ve found and shared some great tunes. And I love the randomness of it all. Soul to Doom to Jazz to Indy. Or… heavy Fuzz followed by Prince. Here’s a video that caught my ear yesterday. The music starts 2 mins in.

    Double Seabed out of Phase?

To whom it may concern, I built a double Seabed, with a self oscillating switch, on the first delay. Having two speeds, one into another, is so much fun. Being able to have the second delay running long, and the first set to a short slap back, is fun-tastic. And I got lucky, the second is a bit...

trouble with pedals not making much effect in the signal chain

It may sound silly. I’ve made this mistake in the past. But make sure the input and output of each pedal is correct. As in, the cable goes from your instrument, to the input of the pedal, and the next cable goes from the output to the input of the next pedal. If the pedal doesn’t have labels for...

    Top Five

CIRCULATOR is my favourite phaser. I’ve tried the phase II, and it’s great too. But I enjoy the blend on the Circulator. And the cleaness of the phase. MOONSHOT is my favourite tremolo. I knew it as soon as I turned it on. It was a clear Yes! Others add colour to the tone, in my opinion. The...

    Pets of PedalPCB

Post #283 from DeadAirMd With a cat named Tea relaxing on a Cry-Baby. That photo reminds me of a Pet story. Years ago. My Girlfriend moved in. She brought along her loveable Jack Russel named Weebo. He didn’t like my noise when I practiced, and would plop down in another room, within view, and...

    Maleficent Mids - "Les Midz"

Well done. Good colour choices, and the Faceplate looks professional. And a great description of the effect too.

SOLVED Duo-Phase Ticking (mainly when left side is engaged)

I haven’t built this phase…yet. But I do believe all wires should be away from the board as best as possible. I agree with Erik, try moving the wires away from the electrolytics. Underneath is an option.

    Genuine spring reverb build recommendations?

A few months ago, I was looking into building a true spring reverb. This kit caught my eye. https://moodysounds.com/produkt/analog-reverb-kit-ink-tank/ I can’t vouch for it.

    What a great forum!

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. This forum is the only one I check in on almost daily. No hate. No smack talk. Just helpful info, and open sharing. And inspiring builds. One of the reasons I first bought some pcbs here was that I was able to search this forum for mods, and helpful...

Best DC jacks and mounting procedure

I too have had problems with wiggly jacks. I primarily use the small 2.1mm jacks. Unless I drill the hole too big. What I find causes the wiggle, is a hole that is slightly too large, and over tightening/striping. The best fix I have found recently is adding a lock washer. The split lock washer...

    Mayo Fuzz

Now that’s a bold statement. Are you saying that THIS Fuzz is the pinnacle of Fuzz for you, and that you will never seek another Fuzz? Has your Fuzz quest ended? One could only be so lucky.

PPCB Two Tone Fuzz and Aion FX Solaris

I haven’t seen a battery in a pedal in years! Haha. All three of these builds look great. And I like the look of the blue knobs on the blue box, surprisingly.

Today’s Eclipse- anyone else in the path?

Southern Ontario. North shore of Lake Erie. 100% view, mostly cloud free. Clear skies for the corona. A splendid day indeed. We had some friends drive down from Toronto. They brought the kids. We had a lovely picnic. The temperature drop was freaky. And the four minutes of darkness was a trip...

Gibson Quality Control 2024 - Unbelievable!?

Oh my goodness. Giovanni, we’re bothers! You described my father to a Tee! I picked up my first Gibson 7 years ago. It’s my number 1. And I’d buy another one tomorrow if anything happened to it. Number two is an Epiphone. Same deal.

Peavey 412 cab thrift store find

I had the good fortune of finding a lonely Peavey 6505 slant cab with 4 Sheffield 12” speakers, sitting in the furniture section of a thrift store this weekend. Saturday was a quiet day. I decided I would take a load of old clothes and toys into town and donate them. I thought I’d better have a...

    Fuzz Captain

Nice build. I just ordered one myself a few days ago. After reading about it, I am planning to put the gain trim pot on the exterior. I assume it’s not a large sweep, and that’s why it’s designed to be inside. But I’ll find out. Does the Tame switch change the sound dramatically ?
