I need 1u Film Capacitors and thought I ordered them. I have 0.1uf and 0.01uf. are either of these going to work, i'm having difficulty online finding the answer as to whether on of these will work or not.
Thanks

which circuit are you building?

if the circuit calls for 1uF film caps, you should probably try and use them.
however, if you really cannot wait for the correct value, depending on what the circuit is, you could make potentially make do.

e.g. if we're talking about a TS808-based circuit, you could probably put 0.1uF in place of the 1uF, as they merely serve as coupling caps, but you would lose some low end content.

building the Caesar Chorus.

They're input and output caps
As long as you aren't playing bass through it, just use something 220n and up. You'll never hear a difference on guitar

 do you have any other caps of a larger value than 0.1uF?

there's only x2 1uF caps in this one and they're only serving as coupling caps at the input and output, so you could probably get away with 0.1uF, but a higher value would be ideal.

i have electrolytic caps that are larger just not the film style

Always good to have some spares. I'm, possibly incorrectly, assuming you're fairly new to the obsession hobby. For film caps, it's good to have a few extras. If you are ordering as you go, plan 2-3 pedals worth of parts, order them but consider rounding up. For common value caps, 10, 22, 33, 47, 68, 82 and their +/- a couple decimal points brothers, round up to the nearest 10. Not a huge investment but you'll be happy to have the spares. There will be a time you accidently order 500v 68n caps instead of 63/100v or you inadvertently melt a cap soldering a pot or switch. A couple of mistakes and those extra caps pay for themselves in saved shipping. Not to mention the time and heartache saved.
Another option is grabbing one of those boxes of freebies off Ali-mon-Bay to have as backups.
Just a thought.
