80% of Pedal Building is...

The neat freak in me actually enjoys the wiring - to a degree. I like it when I can make it super neat. Necessitated "sloppiness" annoys me intensely.

I don't think any part of building pedals is 80% for me. Sorry. It used to be that maybe 20% was finding all of the parts, but since I organised my capacitors into a compartment box the finding-the-parts bit has speeded up tremendously. Populating the board and populating/wiring up the enclosure are maybe 40% each? Depends on the pedal. So maybe 80% of making a pedal is making the pedal?

Does sorting through the big Mouser box once it arrives count as part of “procurement”?
Because that’s the bit that always takes me lots of time, and floor space!

But aside from that 80%, the other 80% is mustering the time and energy to engage in this super fun hobby that is theoretically way more gratifying than tv and a beer ;)
