Any new concerts you're looking forward to (formerly 2023 concerts)

Unfortunately most of the stuff I’ve been interested in for this year will be during the week I’m away for my sister’s wedding.

As for stuff that I can go to, I’m trying to figure out if it’ll be feasible for me to get to New Jersey for the Claypool Gold (Primus, Frog Brigade, CLD) tour. Also trying to coordinate with my girlfriend to figure out if we can swing for either the two night Woodstock run or the three night Brooklyn run of They Might Be Giants in the spring.

My fiancé and I will be at the Nine Inch Nails show in Boston in Feb. Can’t wait!
Dope! Saw them on the first US Peel It Back leg, and it was incredible. Really wanted to go to the NJ show, but even though my girlfriend loves NIN, spending Valentines Day in Newark is a tough sell— she said absolutely no way.

The Band of Heathens, unfortunately, I'll be just out of back surgery when they come through, so maybe next year.

I've got a few concerts I'm looking forward to after the NIN concert:

- Jimmy Eat World with Minus the Bear and Sparta
- My Chemical Romance with The Mars Volta

In a way, I'll get to see At the Drive-In via two different bands.

Got tickets to see the Bad Plus Farewell Tour at the Mt. Hood Jazz Festival. Equally excited and sad. 1st time seeing them, though I've seen Chris Speed twice with the Claudia Quintet.
The only photo I took... this show was unbelievable. Only complaint is for the dumb ass lady seated behind me who gave a loud chuckle at the end of every song. Like... not a "this is funny" laugh but an "ooh it pleases me, I have received the deep meaning of this art" chuckle of approval while the band holds the last note. The idiot took a shit on every single ending they played.

Caught Laura Jane Grace the other night - she ripped it. Can't recommend highly enough.

Only have a couple other shows on the calendar this year - two nights of the Hold Steady in Chicago in June (if anyone has 2 spare tickets to the Empty Bottle show, I'll trade you a kidney), Frank Turner's Lost Evenings in September, and Streetlight Manifesto later this year.

I saw The Last Dinner Party last night in Brooklyn and they were literally amazing! I highly recommend seeing them live, they put up a great show.

A few of my friends and I got to go see Johnny Socko a couple weeks ago. They reunited for their first two shows in in ten years or so. Not that I expect anyone to know who they are. They were a popular regional band back in the 90s and early 2000s. They're primarily a ska band that flirts with funk and hip hop at times. This was a big deal because I never saw them back in the day and I missed their last reunion show. They had an opening band called Pilots that were pretty cool. Pilots sort of remind me of Kraftwork or Devo.

Also I got to see Ty Segall the next week. I only recently started listening to him so I didn't know a whole lot of the songs. Dude rocks. I felt totally inspired to play all my fuzz pedals when I got home.

My girlfriend got us tickets to see Johnny Blues Skies and the Dark Clouds (aka Sturgill Simpson) in October. I'm pretty stoked for that too.

I bought tickets yesterday to take kids to see The Toadies with Local H in Detroit this August. My wife and I have seen the Toadies 4 other times. The second time we saw them she was pregnant with our oldest daughter and we ended up hanging out with them after the show and chatting. So technically it's Stella's second time seeing them 😂
