Anybody have experience with the Hipshot d-tuner?

Have any of you ever had, used, or installed one? If so, how was it?

I've never owned one but tons of bassists use them. I borrowed a bass with one once and it worked like a charm. I will likely pick one up if our "getting the band back together" talk actually pans out.

I've installed and used them on like 4 of my bass guitars. Easy installation. The Pbass, I had to ream the tuner hole out a little, but not much. The others were no issues. I love it, I don't have to hold my super heavy 5 string now.

I’ve got one that I put on a mid 80s Fernandez PJ that I got for free from my dad’s childhood neighbor a few years ago and tricked out with all kinds of upgrades. I added the doublestop lever to it, and I have it go between D, E, and F# (I wrote a keyboard bass line a few years ago that’s really hard to play on bass unless you tune F#ADG), and I don’t have much to say except it works exceptionally well!

It seemed like they were more popular on basses so I figured some of y'all bass players might chime in. Any clearance issues with the lever?

I'm a bass player, nope, no clearance issues. I've put them on Pbasses, jbasses, an EPI thunderbird, and maybe an Ibanez, I don't remember if I did that one or not.

I've played a bunch of both guitars basses with these but never owned/ installed. I was always impressed with how well they work though. Only reason I don't have one is that I honestly never change tunings anymore, especially not mid song like they allow. I can't believe how in tune this bass remains with all the dtuner glissando going on.
