Can i use a 74HC04 where a SN74HU04 is used?

Im building the Aion Elysium, it uses a SN74HU04. I can only find a 74HC04 locally. Will it work?

The HU04 is unbuffered. They aren’t interchangeable. I got mine from Aion.

Thanks for the offer man but I ended up biting the bullet and placing an order with mouser. Ordered a few other things so it spread tha pain out lol
