Capacitive load of an entire effect circuit

Most isolated DC-DC converters have a maximum capacitive load spec. Exceeding this limit can kill the converter or at least result in serious start-up problems from what I read. For capacitors directly across the converter outputs it's easy enough to figure out the load, just add up the values. But what about an entire effect circuit? Let's say I have a simple JFET gain stage with a large source bypass capacitor. Does this capacitor increase the capacitive load on the DC-DC converter? Do series resistors in the path "lighten" the load? Maybe I add another gain stage and couple it to the first through a capacitor. Does this also affect the load on the converter?

If the cap is not directly (zero ohm) across the power rail, but wired through a resistor, FET etc, don't worry about it.
BTW you don't need a lot of capacitance across the output of a DC-DC, since they operate at high frequency.
