Chop shop sag pot

I bread boarded this not long ago and took it off. Got the board coming but I read over on tag board effects the sag pot isn’t really usable for the full range and some say a 5k is better. Curious if anyone has experience with this as I’ll have to order a 5k

Once I had good J201s, biased correctly, then the sag worked as expected with the vanilla build. How was your experience with the breadboard version?

I have my sag around 65% sometimes, but it is usable the entire range, just not my thing above that mark.

I left the sag pot off on the bread board, I’ll leave it 10k. Pots are a tougher one to take on and off the pcb. Thought I suppose I could use lug for that one.

Still got my smd j201’s to test but none of mine so
Far are over 500 ldss

I’m with the stock sag pot, and it works full range. I run at 18v though; but the sag does it’s thing, albeit with a finer grain, very nicely. Just last night had it around 3 o’clock. As I was playing, I got to thinking about how much that knob does, and by such “simple” means—compression, narrowing the freq. response, extra texture, etc., all from a bit of voltage control. Really wondeful.
