I’ve never understood the appeal personally so maybe if it’s more massed produced I’ll have to hear about it less
I just said MXR because of the context of the thread.
I'd imagine most boutique builders would be more than happy to work with Boss, MXR, DOD, TC, EHX, etc....
I doubt anyone... would have a problem working with a big corporation given the opportunity. I mean why not?
Try working for a big corporation and you'll find out.
Duke of Earl of ToneIndeed- and Papyrus is a dumb font.
And what ever happened to having a plan B?
That's what my Moroccan friend feeds his dog, hare. You're having hare of the dog...I used to get braised hare at a Moroccan spot where you sit on pillows on the floor and they wash your hands with rose water. Pretty delicious. Wouldn't say it tasted like chicken but it had enough complexity going on that I couldn't say if it tasted like hare either.
None taken!@Feral Feline, I stand by my opinion but meant no offense!
Once the 1N4148 goes EoL, there’ll be a crap ton of magic pedals around. For diodes to be "magic," they have to be scarce.
For symmetrical clipping I like to have 1N914 going one way and 1N4148 going the other way, but you've got me worried that either or both might go EoL I dread the day of spending $5 for a matched pair of 1N4148sOnce the 1N4148 goes EoL, there’ll be a crap ton of magic pedals around.
Couldn’t agree more. Granted anything with less fuzz than a hyper fuzz sounds too clean to me, but still"Duke of Tone"? To quote Gene hackman in Unforgiven: "I says duck."
I've never understood the hype around this series of pedals. The KoT sounds ok but there are better modded Bluesbreakers around IMO. The KoT is a decent OD which lacks any low-end. It's ok, decent, alright... But it has never been amazing to me.
Don’t shatter my illusions dude….It’s a good thing for the general guitar public.
Whether it’s a magic pedal or not, I like it but it can easily be replaced by many others.
In general, we could lose 95% of dirty pedals and still be able to do an the kausal sounds we make.
What diodes are being used in the Duke? all SMD I assume? There's not a world of difference between the Duke and the Pauper...
A few component values, the diodes, and no dipswitches.
