Flanger!

Seems like a flanger would be a good addition to the lineup! Maybe the A/DA, Thorpe Camoflange, or good old Electric Mistress? I don't happen to have one for tracing, but I've seen some Electric Mistress schematics floating around at least.

Just finished the Current Lover from Madbean. I am always up for building another flanger.

This is probably the most foolproof and consistent diy flanger. Fairly low cost and easy set up makes it a good choice for builders newer to the hobby. I still prefer it to any other flanger I've built.

And I am still a newbie. I really like the loop as well. Wouldn't that also work as a clean if you just jump it with a cable? Just a blend where R15 ,R16 and R17 come together.

Another Flanger worth doing is the Boss BF-2. I built one last year and it's a low count, easy build with low cost reissue bbd ic's. I've built the a/da, the boss, the ehx echo Flanger and electric mistress and the mxr, the electric mistress is my favorite but the boss is my second favorite cause the bf-2 was my first Flanger pedal in the early 90s and it's a good general purpose Flanger that will get you close to all the others.
Since you're our resident Flanger Specialist... I know Frank Zappa used 2 MicMix Dynaflanger and I'm looking at getting his 1979 tone.

Do you have any idea which of those Flangers you mentioned could do a good approximation?

Thanks for your feedback!

I would probably go with the a/da (flintlock) as it would probably get you closest. But from my understanding the dynaflanges were stereo and ran at different settings at the same time. If that's what your really chasing then the most readily available stereo Flanger is the byoc stereo analog Flanger. Unless your a real glutton for punishment and want to hunt down some really hard to find parts and complex builds then deadendfx has some really cool flangers, but I don't know that they would be any better for this sound.
Here is a post that talks about your very question http://www.ilovefuzz.com/viewtopic.php?f=149&t=14623&start=15
Thanks for the info.

From the link you mention in Zappa's interview he says: "I took three MXR Digital Delays -- two with minimum memory storage, and one with tons of it."

Well, I have the one with tons of it. :) (sorry for bragging)

Bumping for more flange!
Seems like the only thing missing is an MXR-type. Madbean no longer makes his Collosalus board, which was the M117 adapted to use an MN3007 instead of the SAD1024. There's vero version floating around out there, but a fabbed board would be much better.
