General Tso compressor issues

My General Tso (Thorpy Fat General) works when bypassed and has sound when the effect is engaged. However, after about an 1/8 turn of the sustain pot from the minimum CCW position it squeels/feedbacks terribly. Once this happens, the sound volume goes way down...even when the effect is bypassed and in buffer-only operation. After a while, when I try again the same phenomenon occurs with good sound at the start but loss of sound after the terrible sustain squeels (seems to happen around when the pot measures 6K, while in the LDR circuit). I replaced the pot so I am sure it is not defective.

Both LEDs flicker on power up and the left seems to respond well to a guitar input while the right LED barely responds (tried another LED on the right with similar results).

I did notice that I have an OPA134 opamp and not an OPA2134. Is this potentially the cause?

The pinouts on those two opamps are different. Not interchangeable

Opa2134 voltage in Pin 8, Opa134 pin 7, never gonna work.

Thanks! Already ordered the 2134...used the 134 by mistake...(really hard to see the print on some of these opamps!)
