CONTEST Headphone Practice Amp 🎸

CONTEST
I have a Vox bass amplug laying around here somewhere, The optional metronome/drum loops are ok but not many to choose from on it, like 3~4 and are at like mid 70's~80's pop tune rates or reggae. Funny enough my regular Fender bass amp has a headphone out so I can use it with either when I plug the head set in, wider frequency response range.

I've been using the headphone out on my ampeg pf500 for years. Been plotting a diy build, so far it's an mxr headphone amp, unicab, and softii. Boards are done and tested just need to decide on enclosure size and whether or not to include a son of ben or something for a more guitar oriented pre.

There are a LOT of features to consider when choosing. While I have other ways of headphoning, MEUs, DIs, in this case I just wanted to roam around playing guitar…I guess…stop looking at me like that. :ROFLMAO:

Still, that doesn’t change my plans to build one or four! I saw a pcb or two above, and I recall Robert working on one so grooviness.

We’ll add a few choices to the prize based on the suggestions made. A Fig Labs Custom Prize ;)

As I sit in the hospital watching my better half have contractions I thought to myself: a headphone amp would be nice. That is all. Thank you and good day
Ah, sitting in a hospital, waiting on a little person. As a veteran of 3 rounds of that, Congratulations!

The world needs more bass players. I hear Mickey Mouse (if I remember correctly) toy instruments are a great placed to start. Just ask Victor Wooten.

Hi fig

Practice amps are very useful and double as a good testing platform for a bench, I’ve used irig with an iPad. It’s fun to mess with the settings. Of course it’s digital but it’s compact and small!

My little Vox practice amp has a headphone out. But using it with headphones immediately makes me not want to use headphones--it's just too harsh and I imagine it's because they didn't bother to do any kind of cab sim on the signal so you get an unfiltered blast.

I've been looking for an alternative, hoping PedalPCB offers one. I think a Unicab and headphone amp together would get the job done.

Howdy Fig,
I remember getting one of those pocket rock-it headphone amps back in the 1990s ... just checked my storage bin for guitar odds n ends and I still have that ... outlived the Danelectro Honeytone (broken) and Orange Crush Mini (sold). I am so going to try that crapfest out for nostalgia's sake
