Inspired by PedalPCB??

Also seems like they’re going the route of analogman and making a new product without needing any new development or marketing.

Reminds me of the KHDK Ghoul Jr where they changed a few bits on a classic TS808 and spit it back out as their own. More gain for sure...but doesn't really sound that much different than a TS808 really. Kurt Hammett got into a lot of hot water with some of his comments. You know, "a pedal company owned by a real guitarist". Right, Kurt...you stay classy, man! :P

;):ROFLMAO:
Gee, how do you think I figured out that a Ghoul Jr. sounds exactly like a TS808? :P

I actually built the Actual OD JR. and pitted it against a AionFX Stratus that I built with TS9 specs using MA150 diodes and a 2SC1815 transistor for the input stage. Actual OD had more volume...but not necessarily more gain per se. Tone-wise, with the extra clipping options on the Stratus, there really wasn't much difference in the two. Very, very subtle but, in the end, I liked the Stratus I built a bit better. One other one that is based on a TS808/TS9 that actually has a different quality to it is the Bootleg Overdrive.

So, is the actual overdrive just a modded tubescreamer?
Yup! Need to look at the specs again but my understanding is that very little about it changed. I think they modded the input to give it more boost.

Oh, and they added some clipping options to give it different tones...which the Stratus has as well. :P

I'm sure it's a great pedal so I'm not knocking it by any means, but I would have chosen a different set of knobs that didn't overlap the labels and extend all the way to the edges of the enclosure.
Yeah, it's not like they make smaller MXR-style knobs or anything.

I am boggled that this is a production product. Not knocking the circuit, but the knobs, label placement issues (wtaf are they doing here with label placement, honestly?), and LED look like my beginner projects. Yikes. Bet it sounds ace though.
