Is there any benefit to solder resistors almost in a vertical position?

Please see pics. Some resistors are almost standing on end. Is it for a performance reason, technique or to save space? Thank you!

I was thinking about doing this for better heat dissipation. It adds a bit of technical ability to a project too. Looks more interesting.

I was very curious and bought this clone for $30 on ETSY. I was really surprised to see the quality inside was pretty good. Then I started thinking about the resistors positioning on their pcb.

Despite Delyk telling you the UpDownDaddy is named after a game played with a daughter being tossed in the air like a salad,
the reason the project is named such as it is is because nearly all resistors go up/down, Daddy-O.

All or part of the above statement may be false, but the contrary may also be true.
