Klon Bass Mod

Hi!

Did the Klon with the bass mod and I’m getting no clipping/overdrive

Also the gain pot gets to noon and there is no volume at all.

Is the jack tip touching the back of the dual gang pot when you plug it in? Looks pretty close

It’s close but not touching

Also pulled it from the enclosure just to hit all the solders again, does it outside the enclosure as well

The gain pot increases gain, but it also blends between clean and dirty signals. If you are getting no overdrive and the gain pot acts as a volume it is almost certain that the signal is just not getting through the overdrive part of the circuit at all. If it was me I would be tracing through the overdrive section with an audio probe. Was it working properly before you did the mod?

Is it working outside the enclosure. Does that bottom pot has a cover?

it works inside and out with the exception of the gain. Turning from left to right it decreases sound until the middle, the raises it again with no clipping overdrive effect

The mod sheet I used for the bass mod says C2 should be 1uf. Not 100% sure from the picture, but looks like yours maybe has a 104j100 code which would be 1nf. Also I think C6 should be 68n, but I'm seeing 682j100 or 6.8n.

I don't think it's an issue, but Chuck spec'd an A taper pot for volume, and I see you stuck with the stock B taper.
