Let's See Your Amps

Been busy working way to much...but i did score a nice package deal on 2 Les Pauls and this awesome Friedman set up...this has the best master volume..at a whisper it sounds great...dead quite with gain maxed !

I like the JBE switch on...nice tight compression /saturation ..all that chew stuff !

Unexpected buy..i wanted that 1999 1960 LP Classic for 800...then everything else fell into my budget ..cash is king !

A Craigslist buy..after years of looking at the same old bumped up stuff at 3 times of whats its worth..lol

Nice rigs guys btw !

Nice score! Although, I’m more excited about that Ceriatone you have in the background 😉.

Ahhh... yep good eye and thanks ! ... thats a nice amp i scored off TGP

It has a Hot Mod in V2 that i bought and on the Hot Mod i took the JJ's out and put a JAN 5751 and a 60's Amprex in the mod..ok much nicer but

I put a Mullard I61 in V1 and a EI in V3 PI....man alive it came alive !

That old Mullard tamed some of the high end and smoothed it out some and ive read..that if you have the PPIMV like i have that adds more top end put a old Mullard in the V3 PI slot...i was going to do that but like always i got side tracked buying something....lol

I never was a believer in old glass, like my friends but now i have a giant Service box bottom full !

I bought a Headfirst loop for that amp but we have not stopped working since C19 and havent had the time to put it in, so i bought a Power Station and use the loop on that...another fine piece of very useful gear !

I have that Ceriatone dialed in and if you like a 800...buy one of there kits and build one...or buy one. I was going to do some mods to mine but i like it the way it is

Right on! I’m a really big fan of Ceriatone. I commissioned a 2202 to be built for me in 2018 and then sold off very other amp I had shortly after. I paired it with 2 g12m greenbacks and I’ve been in Marshall growl heaven ever since. If I were you, I wouldn’t mod that amp either. They sound killer as is. I played through a friend’s 2204 and it sounds absolutely killer. Loud as all hell and it’ll rip your face off if you’re not careful but, hot damn does it sound glorious.

I had an '84 2204. Played it in a band for a couple of years, full out, boosted with a cranked lpb1 that I built. Talk about chug.

Hell yes! That’s what I’m talking about! All of the chug😈! I’m gonna chug this shit until my hand bleeds! I’m gonna chug some beers! Then I’m gonna punch some poor bastard in the face! Then I’m gonna chug this shit until the cops show up! 🤣

Bass rigs, part II.

DIY 110 "airhead" cab built by two local friends of mine, originally meant for the G-K MB500 head. I was gifted the cab as part of a series of trades and settled on the Traynor SB-200H amp, which can slide in or out of the head space in about 20 seconds. There's a hinged door behind the amp to allow back panel access and that space serves as cable storage as well. The door piece comes off and works as a tilt back wedge, pretty slick:

Combo_5e.jpg

That's a sweet grab and go setup for the semi-acoustic jams I play weekly, and makes for a nice home practice setup as well. Driver is Eminence Deltalite II 2510.

And then I just sold off both of my 115 cabs and my longtime gigging 112 and and picked up this love child of a studio monitor and a cannon:

TC118AF_1.jpg

That's an AudioKinesis TC118AF, the only one like that AFAIK. Uses the Faital 18FH500 woofer and there's a secondary tweeter on the back to bring more reflected/reverberant field energy into the mix. My 112 was also an AK piece and also had the back firing tweeter arrangement. AF = "acoustic friendly" and works especially well for electric upright, which was my main gigging thing for the last 15 years or so before I retired from playing out.

The new tube amp in the previous post will fit nicely on that cab and the cab is quite sensitive and should make the most of the 100 watt amp. The amp in the pic makes ~350 watts @ 8 ohms and 9 o'clock on the master is already plenty loud for playing at home.
