Only getting 1.2V at 9V jack [with Low Tide Modulator]

I'm sure this pertains to any kind of pedal, but I'm experiencing this with the Low Tide Modulator:

When tracing the signal, I noticed that I'm only getting 1.2V at the 9V jack. (If I plug my power supply in an un-wired jack I'm getting the full 9V)

Does that mean there's a short somewhere?

Either way it probably explains why my signal is dying at R2, ugh.

Is it a metal frame jack? Those will short out on the enclosure and cant be easily used with a center negative configuration.

It's one of those mini Lumberg jacks

I would guess that there is a short somewhere. Start by verifying the integrity of the power block then move to the nets connected to power.

Post pics of the front & back of the board, maybe we can spot something.

I think I found the problem: I had the wrong part for the LM78L05 voltage regulator, so I suppose the voltage wasn't being, uh, regulated properly

Hi y'all -- an update as promised. It's working now. Required two things:

1) using the correct voltage regulator
2) swapped out the J201 I had at Q1
