Paragon Mini- static with chords

I made the Paragon mini. It works, but there is a subtle static associated with chords that is annoying. I have a Morning Glory clone (similar circuit) and other pedals that do not have this problem, so I don’t think the problem is the amp or other pedals.

The problem occurs with both channels. I have socketed R3 and R20. The problem occurs with both 1 and 100 K resistors.

I did use diode substitutes for this project. N4148= MA856 and 1N914= 1S1588.

My voltages for both ICs were identical.
1: 4.35
2: 4.37
3: 3.97
4: 0
5: 4.30
6: 4.30
7: 4.27
8: 8.59

Do you all have any thoughts or suggestions for fixing it?

Well, I maybe classified as a noob…. I may have found the problem. I have an “always on” EQ with a buffer. If I remove that pedal, the problem seems gone. I don’t know if the buffer or the EQ mix is the issue. I will play with it some more to ensure that is the issue. If the voltages look off, please let me know as that might change the focus of my evaluation.
