Pets of PedalPCB

Well after our neighbors dog killed our entire flock. We hatched 8 eggs that were left on our counter, and kept two (on the right) because we ended up with 7 roosters and one hen lol. And then we bought 5 chicks from tractor supply. Different breeds and yes my wife names them all and they all have differing personalities, It’s actually thereputic just watching them run around the yard. I also spoil them with lots of different treats. We have 12 total

We've had our fair share of under-cover roosters...pecking order drama is way more entertaining than daytime soaps! We have ours trained to come to the sound of the treat bag shaking.

Aprilia passed away today, my brother’s cat, a ripe old age. She was a big cat, but the last 2 years she was skin & bones.

This pic, taken just over a week ago puts a couple pounds on her — no skin, really just a furry skeleton at this point.
Note her paws, she was a polydactyl with big toes... A cuddler, such a sweetheart.
She was one of my favourites; I’m grateful the stars aligned so that I was able to see her one last time.

Brother is down to just two girls, Harley and Honey — a calico kitty and a Great Dane respectively.

Aprilia you're missed already. 💔

The boys wondering when they can mentor and terrorize the new gal

New gal (haven't decided a name for her yet 😔) saying, "bring it"

She's got another vet appointment tomorrow to get vaxxed and spayed. She's not chipped, but she is preggo. She didn't mind the flea bath, but absolutely hated being coddled in a towel to dry

I caught Alma looking even dumber than normal.

In the background you can see the dilapidated shack she has had to live in lately that is barely hanging on (I opened up the bottom of a cat food cardboard box and she likes it, it's leaning on the wall so it holds up).

She just had a HUGE sudden blowout on the boys, that was entirely unprovoked

Flambeau was staring out window, and Onyx was sleeping, neither paying any attention to her at all... then she just went apeshit

It was such a a flash, too. She was on my lap, and just suddenly lunges at Flambeau, who was like six feet away on the tree

Onyx, surprisingly ran to my room and hid under the bed
Flambeau was puffed and ready to rumble though. It was scary, I've never seen him like that. He's always super chill with other cats

Gonna try some of those pheromone diffusers and collars, but I'm giving her another week in quarantine

You gotta shank someone early on when you make it to gen pop, she knows what's she's doing :)

Yeah, that last pic is not a sweet innocent "who Lil Ol Me?" look — more like, "Yeah? Watchagonnadoboutit, DGWVI? Just you try something..."

And that pic of her flashing her itty-bitties...

Why you...

...NASTY LITTLE VARNA SHANKER!

Curiosity in a porcupine landed our boy Bearon at the vet's office. He wouldn't open his mouth to show all the quills on his tongue and inside his mouth. The good news is that he's all better now and had a delightful journey with sedatives and pain killers.

Odd thing was that when he first got quilled, he just came running up to me with tail wagging and grinning stupidly big. Then he started trying to shake them off. He acted more irritated than truly hurt.
