They have a lot more personality than I would have thought before keeping them. We have an automatic light-sensing coop door, but a raccoon stayed up late (early?) and snatched Tina.I love chickens. When I used to live out in the boonies one showed up at my place and chilled for like a month. Pretty sure the damn raccoons got it, but it was great.
Did someone say they love chickens
We've had our fair share of under-cover roosters...pecking order drama is way more entertaining than daytime soaps! We have ours trained to come to the sound of the treat bag shaking.Well after our neighbors dog killed our entire flock. We hatched 8 eggs that were left on our counter, and kept two (on the right) because we ended up with 7 roosters and one hen lol. And then we bought 5 chicks from tractor supply. Different breeds and yes my wife names them all and they all have differing personalities, It’s actually thereputic just watching them run around the yard. I also spoil them with lots of different treats. We have 12 total.
Haha! Very true, these gurls love corn tortillas lol they go nutsWe've had our fair share of under-cover roosters...pecking order drama is way more entertaining than daytime soaps! We have ours trained to come to the sound of the treat bag shaking.
You gotta shank someone early on when you make it to gen pop, she knows what's she's doingShe just had a HUGE sudden blowout on the boys, that was entirely unprovoked
Flambeau was staring out window, and Onyx was sleeping, neither paying any attention to her at all... then she just went apeshit
It was such a a flash, too. She was on my lap, and just suddenly lunges at Flambeau, who was like six feet away on the tree
Onyx, surprisingly ran to my room and hid under the bed
Flambeau was puffed and ready to rumble though. It was scary, I've never seen him like that. He's always super chill with other cats

Gonna try some of those pheromone diffusers and collars, but I'm giving her another week in quarantine
