Recycling enclosure?

Do you often unbox a circuit and reuse the enclosure?

If so, do you have any tip for removing waterslide decal?

Or am I just too a cheap guy for recycling a 7$ enclosure + few 50¢ knobs?

I'm just curious.

I reuse enclosures for my own stuff. I don't use decals though, so it's usually a matter of sanding down/stripping the paint/labels and re-spraying. I sometimes end up using JB Weld to fill extra holes too.

Yeah I have 2 or 3 test boxes that I label with masking tape until they're ready to move on. There's a 3, 4, and 5 knob.

You're right, it might do the trick. I put 3 transparent coating on the waterslide sheets before I put them on enclosures. It may be super easy. I will do some testing with scraps I got.

You can be brutal with the decal / label removal, do a crappy touch-up job and pass it off as "relic'ed."
