Rest In Peace Ozzy Osbourne.

One of the first, true old school metal CD I had in my hands was Sabbath Blody Sabbath. What a record, unfortunately stolen, but still in my memory as an introduction to the "heavy metal". RIP you crazy beautiful man, dear Ozzy.

Black Sabbath riffs were probably the first ones my guitar teacher taught me many years ago. The godfathers of metal. RIP

So weird, on the drive in to work this morning I was listening to the radio and some guy called up to request Black Sabbath with Dio "Heaven and Hell." It's a long track and I'm surprised they played it. This was before the news.

I like Dio but he's no replacement for Ozzy, esp in the 70's

Bark at the moon and Speak of the Devil was my introduction to Ozzy. Been a huge fan ever since. Apparently, he went out on his own terms. Assisted suicide in Switzerland.
Only thing I’ve seen about assisted suicide is some quotes from Sharon over a decade ago about them having a suicide pact of either of them developed Alzheimer’s. In a later interview Sharon distanced herself from that, saying that suffering is part of life.
If he did opt for assisted suicide, I’m glad he went out on his own terms after a proper sendoff and celebration of his life and legacy. Until we know— if we ever do -I’ll hold off on speculating.

I had also read they were talking about it in a family podcast? Sharon watched her dad waste away, is how the pact got started. But, yeah, I’d like to know the details as well.

I could give less of a shit about the small details of how Ozzy died. He lived and loved larger than any of us ever will.

He made it to his final curtain calll when he didn’t think he would or could. He raised an astronomical and record amount of money for a cause he deemed just, and he died surrounded by people who loved him so. That’s good enough. He will never truly die. RIP Ozzy.

I have no ambition to hear about the small pieces because the bigger ones eclipse them tenfold. Respect forever.
