I just finished up my sabbathdistorion. had to wait on some Q's to arrive. i have all the correct values. except i cant source a C500K pot. reverse log i believe. is there a replacement that would work similarly a reg linear be closer. im tryin it now with a larger value pot just to see how she works and its very very fizzy and treble heavy and noise heavy. only Reverse Log pots i have are very low values

another note. playing with knob settings it sounds heavily gated also. where should i look for that?

any 500K pot should work, but you lose a lot of detail in the adjustments for the last third or so of the pot rotation if you don't have the reverse taper.

that does not explain the gating you are describing. you may need to resort to some regular troubleshooting for further diagnosis there. part values, solder joints, wiring, audio probe....
