I've been working with Sascha Surh's book and tried to make this boost:
Except when I breadboard it, I get no sound. I've checked all my parts, and even rebuilt it, but still no sound. Pot has no effect.
I thought maybe I was misunderstanding some fundamentals, so I went and built the treble booster from Coppersound's website and it worked great. I can't figure out why it's not working!!
I also watched the first episode of Josh's Short Circuit (JHS) and couldn't get the LPB-1 to work either. It's similar to this circuit, so maybe there's something simple I'm missing? Clearly my breadboard is okay because the treble boost worked
I tried to measure the voltage from the collector of the transistor, because from what I understand, it should be 4.5V, but when I connect my meter from ground to collector, it reads just over 9V.
I don't know if this is enough info to help me
I'm pretty sure all my directional components are placed properly. My caps are for sure, and I'm pretty certain my transistor is placed properly.
This is my first experiment with my breadboard. I really like the prospect of designing my own circuits and Surh's book, coupled with JHS live streams has really been awesome at helping me understand some basics, but clearly I'm missing something.
I would really appreciate any help/advice!
Cheers
