Starboard Fuzz

Finished this one up this weekend. I had a lot of trouble with this one most of which was volume related. At first I couldn't get it to unity much less any boost so I switched to a a100k which got me the volume I wanted but all of the usable range was in the last quarter of the pot. I ended up using a c100k but I think a b100k would have worked equally as well. I also tried it with 2n3904 transistors first but they didn't get as snarly I was hoping so I used 2n2369 transistors with 50-60 hfe to get that quirky Fuzzrite bite. Nice enclosure! Why did you leave the 2M resistor out?
While I was rooting around trying to figure out the volume problem I noticed that I was getting continuity across the the resistor I had in there so I took it out. Once I got the problem figured out and put back together I didn't hear any pop when engaging or disengaging the pedal so I just left it out.

Very nic!
I just resumed 2 starboard pcbs I have in the lab to try some mod because I have the some unity problem.
I like the sound of this pedal but the output volume is low.
I tried a b100k volume pot but I'm not happy with the result.

Has anybody tried other mods?
Thanks
