Studio 666…

And I thought Dave Grohl already reached peak pop culture penetration.

Not a Foo Fighters fan, but I'd watch it. Looks fun.

Because a spooky rock band movie has never gone badly, right?

That did not go badly, it went awesomely.. very awesomely, just probably not the way it was intended to be awesome.

It is worth it just for their ridiculous voices and Gene and Ace's acting alone.

As for the Foo Fighters thing, I am not a fan. Bruce Campbell or Jack Black (have you seen the Pick of Destiny!?) would make the movie a must see though.

Everlong is a great song, but beyond that I have never really been able to listen to them. I watch that documentary about then a couple years back and was surprised at how normal and nice they seemed to be. I would totally hang out with those dudes. Gave their records another go after and... all due respect.... nope, just not for me.

They rank somewhere around Frampton on the scale..

My wife loves the Foo Fighters so I've been to see them a few times. I don't mind them but I don't put their records on if it's my choice. (Yes I know that must sound very old fashioned. Hey, we have CDs now!) Dave Grohl comes across so well that I think it's perhaps a little harsh to compare the Foos to Nickelback, even thought I can see where you're coming from!

I was never a huge Nirvana fan, or of any of those Seattle guys.I can listen to it but would rather listen to BRMC or Pixies or whatever.

I liked the Studio 666 promo but I'm definitely starting to get the feeling that the Foos are looking for something new to do because they're bored. Especially after that Bee Gees stuff. Maybe they should just take a longer break and try rock climbing or cycling to use up all that excess energy. I doubt Dave needs the $$ and he risks soiling his legacy if he's not careful. Sometimes I feel that Dave Grohl and Travis Pastrana could swap places and I wouldn't notice.

I keep hearing that there are people who are but I've never met one

First three albums? Right here. There's a youthful, energetic silliness that I appreciate about their early work. Plus Dave can scream his balls off with the best of them.

Most everything after that? No thank you. Bits and pieces of the 4th album, sure. But Dave's lyrical content got less interesting the more intelligible it got...

I think it'll work because Dave doesn't seem to take himself too seriously. He's got a great band who have fun doing what they do. The fact that they're making a goofy horror flick makes me like them even more. Hell, horror movie acting and plots are often garbage, but seem to make tons of cash and become cult classics. I'll be viewing it for sure.

In all honesty I've heard one or two of their tracks on the radio, nothing that made want to take a deeper dive into any of their recordings, but I can listen to them without turning the dial, more than I can say for some of the more modern stuff

Foo Fighters is one of those bands that I don't ever think to intentionally listen to, but I don't turn them off when they come on the radio.

Walking After You and Monkey Wrench are probably my two favorites.

Their only good record was the self titled debut. I prefer him as a drummer. His work with queens of the stone age and them crooked vultures is on another level.
That first album was killer. I played the heck out of that CD when it came out. I didn't really go for any of the follow up albums, though. I think he played most if not all of the instruments on that album.
