Sunflower

Got my Sunflower done last evening. 2G303 in Q1 (HFe/leakage 97/35) and a 2G308 for Q2 (178/63) from Smallbear. With the stock R3 I couldn’t get the bias voltage below about -7.0V. Since I wasn’t shooting for a Sunbender I pulled R3 and R4 and put in sockets. Tried several different resistor combos but ended up with what Smallbear had biased them with. 680R in R4 and I put a 6.2R for R3 which got me very close to the 11k Smallbear suggested with the sundial at noon. Let me bias Q2 at -4.85V and Q1 was at -.460V. The sundial let’s me go from -4.15 to -5.55V. Honestly, I would suggest that R1-4 be socketed. I was lucky the Smallbear suggestions for R2 and R3 were what the Sunflower stock values were. I put about 6 coats of acrylic lacquer on the enclosure then level sanded it smooth with 1000 grit for a matte finish. The color is that light violet. I couldn’t get that color to render on the gut shot.
