Thank you for this. I found the USA album on Spotify. I wasn’t aware it had been uploaded. I have been studying KC circa 1973-1974. The Great Deceiver live album (parts I and II) have been on constant rotation. I put USA (live at Asbury Park) on during my run today. The Asbury Park concert really stands apart from the other recordings from this tour (which was opening for the Kinks, strangely enough). Bruford’s drums (except the kick) are very well recorded. And Wetton’s bass did not sound as good as at Asbury Park. My only complaint is that Fripp’s guitar is a bit low in the mix, and with too much of the room mixed in. Also, the crowd won’t shut up. At least no one was yelling “Bruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuce”…If you haven’t heard it, the Providence, RI, gig (Great Deceiver, Pt. I) is excellent, and is peak Crimson.
Sounds like Wetton splurged on a fresh 9v at Asbury Park…
