What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

I really didn’t know where to post this other than buddies contest which it’s for. But I figured I haven’t posted here in a little bit so here we are.

It’s a fuzz face with high and lo pass filters. Each can be controlled via the HIGH PASS and LO PASS respectively. The TONE is tied with the filters making it very active. It also has a switch to choose between a SI/MOSFET/GE transistor.
I added the GATE to put some hair on your chest! 🤙

A very very cool FF indeed.

In the video I’m using a strat with a blues jr. Oh and for the switch: to the left is GE middle is MOSFET and right is SI. I tried to showcase a bit of everything the circuit can do. Will do a better video when it’s complete.

The video really doesnt do it justice! And my playing skills....

I liked the video. Having worked on a ton of BJr's it gives me a nice reference point. Vewry nicely done!
Thank you very much! I'm pretty satisfied with it. Chuck helped me out a lot on this. I think I want to play with it for a few more days to see if I can catch anything that I don't like. Then its on to the board design!

It definitely sounds good.

I have a bunch of LDRs laying around i never really thought of doing this with them. Time to experiment!
Shrink tubing them with the LEDs is fairly standard practice. Though, admittedly, I've only recently started doing it now that my stock of VTLs is finally dwindling :ROFLMAO:

I'm making patch cables, something I really dislike putting together but I want to move away from the solder less cables I've had on my board for the past 5 years. I did seven last night and I have another 7 or 8 to do.

I love that I make my own patch cables but I hate making them lol. Is that regular size instrument cable? I made like 20 cables when I first wired up my board with those type plugs and regular instrument cable and for longer lengths they can get thick for routing. These are just little guys so probably not a big deal but when I did a board for a friend I went with all squareplug and mogami 2319 and it was amazing. Very easy to route and bend and the low profile jacks are awesome. I’m about to completely rewrite my board and I have a feeling I’m going to bite the bullet and get the square plugs. Just my $.02

Tone Bender MKII. Sounds great, loud and bright but still fat.
Had to add a power filtering cap to get rid of the howling.
I think the transistors are all around hFE 90-100 and leakage below 100uA. Q3c is below -6.7V.
Trying out transistors is exhausting. At one point I found one for Q2 that gave me the classic -8V on Q3c and it barely made a sound.

Also I hate breadboards. Small leads flail all over the place, thick leads don't fit the holes, jumpers crackle and I hate everything :)
