A broken, orphaned Zoom Tri Metal hobbled its way from New Jersey to my mailbox.
Seller said it had a bad switch and a broken potentiometer.

Looking at the board, I think the switch just stuck with the really big button foot switch. It works when I hand press it directly in the board. The potentiometer should be doable, but the right angle dial pot might make it tough.
Cool thing about the Zoom pedals, they used really nice ALPS Japan potentiometers. Also, they have a weird mix of through hole and SMD.
Going to reply to myself! It works absolutely fine. I can see that the switch might stick, so that can be worked out. And the broken potentiometer is an easy replacement.

Best $20 I’ve spent. Man is it heavy (weight and sound). Really really cool.

Looks great! I’ve been thinking about the same pickup configuration for a future build. Looking forward to the demo!

Boxed up the Stoner Bee. Cute as a button! Still getting to know it better, the most interesting thing so far seems to be the octave-style high end that appears when the gain is turned up, that reminds me a bit of the FZ-2. At least with the Tele with Wylde microcoils the Highs-control seemed unnecessary, I would have loved a Mids-control instead. But I'll try with other guitars later on.

I don’t have any cool pictures (in fact, I don’t even have any cool products to take pictures ofyet because they are in shipment) – but this hobby taught me that I really enjoy interacting with physical pedals and things like modeler or AmpliTube too much for me. It’s almost like I can’t see the software version of the pedals so I never remember they’re there and I never think to try to play around with the knobs to see what happens. And I just get a huge amount of enjoyment in the physical process of building a pedal rather than clicking on something made by someone else in a software program.

As a result, I have pedal board with dozens of pedals I have built and I love playing with them. But my loop switching system, while quality (GigRig and a DIY loop switcher I built), doesn’t give me any programability and I’m also running out of loops with all the petals have built (and I’m not precious about them – I’ve already retired 10 or more that I’ve built because there’s no space on the board or they just don’t do much for me).. So today I spent much more than I should have (but absolutely what I deserved) to purchase an RJM mini controller and 3 Mini Effects Gizmos so I now have 36 loops to play around with, including the ability to re-order any of them in the signal chain. Obviously, any effect on the chain will be something I built, to which I owe a great thanks to this community.

Like any costly purchase, I’m currently suffering minor heart palpitations thinking about what I’ve done, but I’m looking forward to it. I still have probably eight open loops and I fully intend to build things to put in them, and that’s due in a huge part to this great community and all I have learned from you all.

First pedal i build in literally years. Tacobolt. It works but there's way too much volume early on and I need to fix the voltages.

The issue is this freaking Tayda enclosure was not threaded properly and one screw broke in the hole. 3 will hold but I should've checked before drilling.

I hate building pedals. The tiny pads, tinning wires. All the little things.

Bah
