What’s on *YOUR* workbench?

Did temporary pickup change to tame the howly microphony caused with OG MMK Protomatic IV HB PUs. Unwaxed from factory and I finally fed up with it. Gonna wax ’em sure, but the temp ones revealed real temptiness. So The Experiment with hot ceramic HB as neck and p90 as saddle PU is on. This changed the guitar completely. Didn’t except ceramic one to be so trebly, but maybe that is what missing earlier as I play in low tuning!

It’s Rustoleum color shift Green Copper. Goes from green to yellow. Hard to catch on camera though. The color shift paint is basically clear, so you have to lay down a base coat of black first.
That looks much better on camera than on the lid. I think Ive used the ColorShift on another project. Thanks for the info!

That seems like a lot of trouble for a non structural rivet, why not just use sold or cherry max?
Never heard of these! Can you load these in the same rivet gun? I just need to set two plates of steel together, and I got the regular pop rivets already at home. Ordering stuff is more trouble, for now that is!!

Cherry max are like a pop rivet and can be used in a similar “manual pull “ gun although above a -4 I don’t recommend it they can get pretty tough and cheaper guns might break. They are used in structural applications in aerospace, solid rivets you need a different set of tools, I just assumed from the pic you had the tools, probably not worth all the effort for just two rivets, depending on how thick that steel is pop rivets might be not hold

@jubal81 That sounds really nice as a tremolo, but I'm not hearing much "harmonic"? Shouldn't there be more of a "wahrr" to it?
Depending on the cutoff frequencies, harmonic tremolo - which uses amplitude modulation - causes a certain amount of pitch modulation. Because the signals are mixed, it produces more of a phaser effect rather than a vibrato.

The crossover control in the video sweeps the high-pass cutoff frequency, with noon being about the classic Fender value. It sounds a bit like a subtle Univibe. Roll the crossover down, and it leaves in more of the mids and sounds more "fluttery." Roll it up and the mids really duck and it gets more "phasey." I'm adding a volume control to compensate for this and a switch for Black/Brownface modes.

Video is just my iPhone propped up. If you listen to the video with headphones, you'll hear that subtle phaser sound.

It's the first prototype, but I'm thrilled with the modulation character. Using LDRs, there's zero hiss or noise and the linearized sweep of the sine wave makes it super smooth and sweet.
