What's in the mailbox? šŸ“¬ šŸ“¦

I just try to be an enabler.. looking at my current PCB backlog plus the wishlist from watching @thewintersoldier and his build reports.. it feels good to be joined here
@thewintersoldier ā€˜s build reports actually usually dissuade me from buying PCBs I’d otherwise want, because once I see his guy shots it reminds me how much money I’d have to spend on BBDs and other expensive chips just to complete them.
When it’s just words on a BOM I’m like ā€œoh, 4 MN3005s? Sure! I’ll build three!ā€ But when I see the guts I’m like ā€œoh yeah, these are real things, and they cost a lot of moneyā€

I like the enablement. It's forcing me to up my game to get to a point where I can attempt these awesome projects.

I sort of had the same aversion to some of those bigger modulation boards, but then I saw @thewintersoldier build report on the Tourbus and said f*ck it. The DMM is a classic circuit that everyone raves ab and there are def builds that I have done where the board alone cost as much as the chips for the tourbus, so now here I am $40 worth of BBD and compander, populating the boards and praying none of the chips are duds.

Well, my Epiphone 335 that was due yesterday, arrived today missing a Tone Knob and the spline on the pot is pinched, will likely break if I straighten it, but on a more positive note the Friedman BE Mini arrived in great shape! Maybe the UPS driver swooped down south and grabbed it and thus delayed my guitar arrival;)

Binks! Don't miss chasing those fuckin' things around!

EDIT - True Story: We were at a shopping mall one time and I saw a lady whose child's binky had fallen on the floor. She picked it up, stuck it in her mouth and sucked on it to clean it, then popped it right back in the kid's mouth.

That might have been the day we started weaning my son off his.
I’ve done that. No judgment!

I need our shower retiled... the previous homeowner did this awful pebble floor thing. It just looks like rocks they picked up from the creek...

Every few months another one pops out of the grout.

I wouldn't dare tackle this myself though, I can do some stuff but I know my limits.

That's the opposite of what I want to do. It's cheaper than buying a commercial pedal still and it sounds better and has better quality components. People won't think twice about 200 dollars in parts for king of tones, yats and germanium fuzz🤔 you want an omelette, you gotta break some eggs 🤷
Don’t get me wrong; that’s the idea… but when I see your builds and all of the expensive chips they need, and then I remember the 20 other BBD-based PCBs in my drawer that I haven’t bought any chips for yet…

New PCBs out for delivery!!!! I have a v4 PCB of a through-hole preamp (middle) that will hopefully have a thread about it soon, a v0.2 prototype of my tube IR loader (bottom), and a v3 PCB of a preamp (top) I'm designing as a "signature model" for a professional bassist. I probably won't sleep much tonight.
