Today I received a UV flashlight from AliExpress. This one actually works, so now I can enjoy the secret features of Australian banknotes. I only have $5 and $10 of the recent series, though, and a $20 of the older series with fewer UV features. I went cash-free when Covid began so I had to take some money out of an ATM and then break it at the shops to get a few different notes.

DNA can no longer hide from you.

This just in this morning, a two band onboard bass preamp I'm doing for a luthier friend. Pots mount to board on other side, along with all the tall components. He ponied up for custom Omeg pots, we couldnt find the right feature set in any retail commercial ones.

I don't like OSHPark's prices or the time it typically takes to get boards, but damn their silkscreens are top notch.

That's a beautiful guitar. Can I borrow it? 🥺

I somehow managed to skim past that when I was posting about my UV light, but damn that's a nice looking guitar.
Thanks guys - not loaning it out at this point fig, sorry... ;)

Honestly my other guitars are feeling a little neglected at this point as I haven't really picked up any other guitar since that one came in, and I actually need to get some non-Gibson tones done for a pedal demo...

Honestly, if it were mine, I wouldn’t loan it to me either. I look forward to your non-Gibson grooves.

The new, more vintage-accurate looking pickguard for my bass VI from WD music came today (it’s got the thinner black ply, as well as the vintage correct 60° bevel) so I can get my Bass VI mods finished up now!

Also got a Daisy Module for my terrarium board from Randy the Randomizer, c/o @fig ;) and now I even have some Fig Labs plectra and pins!
One pin will be going on my pin-filled Martin Guitar hat, which has such a comically absurd number of pins (I’m a bit of a pin collector. I didn’t realize I was, until one day I realized I am) on it that I’m completely unable to wear it, lest I wind up like a Clive Barker character; the other will go on my backpack for the coming semester (oh yeah, I should probably find a backpack soon lmao— my old one accidentally got melted together by a slight turpentine spill), so all of the other gear nerds at the SBU art department (in the unlikely chance they exist) know that I’m a real deal smolderin’-soldering tough mother-fluxer!

Oh man. You wanna talk bags? What're you looking for?
Just whatever I can find in the attic 😂
I’m carrying like 60+ lbs of random art supplies most days. Chunks of metal, bottles of chemicals, etc.
something that can distribute to weight so it won’t wreck my back (especially since I’m on the waitlist for a premium commuter parking pass, and they’ve cut back on commuter parking by an absolute ton so I have to walk like a mile at 7:30 am with this crap lol) but nothing nice, because it’ll be abused a ton. I’ve got a nice camping backpack somewhere, but I wouldn’t want to wreck that in the studios.

Ah gotcha, if you end up wanting to get something new, let me know. I've cooled off a bit, but was borderline obsessed with different bags/backpacks when I used to bike everywhere.

My mother has been knitting me hats every Christmas since I left for college and my no.1 started to develop a weird gap from a tree snag so my wife put this little button on it. That's kind of been my signature look 9 months a year for almost a decade. I'm very pleased to have a fig version.

Everything about that is rad. Is there a pin on the middle one too?

Here’s the pin-filled hat I mentioned earlier. Please don’t question the gorilla mask if you aren’t prepared for a very bizarre answer that mostly boils down to “it’s a secret”

I forgot I actually took a decent number of the enamel pins off of it to stick them to a cork board. So there should be plenty of room to rearrange things for the fig labs pin to have a primo spot! Here’s the inside though, so you can see why this isn’t wearable by much more than a blow-molded skull that’s mounted to my bedroom wall and adorned with an uncannily realistic gorilla mask. There are more of the spiky metal pin clasps than are visible here— they’re just along the bottom ridge so the folded seam obscures them in this shot

I have a suspicion that a 335 might be my perfect guitar.
I’ve been eyeing this…so hoping to see it in the mail..close enough? :ROFLMAO:
