What's in the mailbox? 📬 📦

I'mOhh cool!!! Do they have more on that eBay store?
No, well not like this volume. They had 2-3 other component lots listed but nothing special. In my haggling they said it was brought in by a customer on an exchange. Most of their other listings are just random junk. Time will tell how much junk this is but I think I'll get my money's worth. Got them down to $230 and the 2n2222s, these days, are worth a third of that at least. There's a handful of black GE 2Nxx and 2Nxxx in there so I'm hopeful. Will take me years to sort through it. In self debating the purchase outloud, I matched out that a TI can lm358 weighs 1100mg so that would be 1227 units if they were all opamps. Given there's a good bit of transistors, I'm guessing over 2k units...
There's a bunch other components mixed in though. But hopeful that I'll have a few hundred usuable mojo bits out of it.

Wow 2K is a lot! Good luck and shout if you find stuff you want to get rid of :)

That hardly seems like a ridiculous purchase.
The $ amount was. But, I think it will pay for itself. It was a gamble because the photos were not good. There were a dozen and I could make out 3-5 parts per. I'm gonna Scrooge McDuck dive into it in a few. Definitely won't sort it all (lol) but I'll have a better idea of what I have. If it's as good as I hope, I hope to offer up some lots on the trading post with some silver mica assortments I'm also sorting through.
It almost looks like someone's radio repairing grandfather's collection or something. There's a stray TO-92s in there, but 99% are metal cans. May be a goldmine, may be a bunch of late 60a/early 70s voltage regs. I spotted several in the listing. Hopefully somewhere in between.
Maybe I'll start a separate thread so document the torture of sifting 3 pounds of maybe so not to overload the mailbox thread.
I also got a box from electronic goldmine/Chaney today but I just tossed it under the desk. I'll get to it next quarter.
