What's in the mailbox? 📬 📦

After putting some tomastik jazz flats on my yazz telecaster (Charlie Christian neck pu) I realized I have flats on everything but my bari.

Update: Why? Why haven't I been using these for decades??? So many misspent years.... I haven't even plugged it in yet and I'm all in.

This is very intriguing!

I'm looking all over to see if La Bella makes a lighter set of flat-wounds for a short-scale baritone but having no luck even finding these ☝️
Got a link?

Two of these incoming from Amplifyfun tomorrow:

I tried some subtle outline lettering tweaks on this pair, it's amazing how much different the exact same yellow fill looks when outlined by a very thin band of orange or purple. I'm planning on building one up for myself and then putting the other one away for a rainy day along with another, more over the top S90 enclosure in portrait orientation, and finally moving along to my long delayed tube amp build and some other non pedal projects for a bit.

Wasn’t in the mailbox but was on Craigslist. Some guy listed this for. 25$. Said it was his sons and they said it didn’t work right. And left it at his house when theh moved out (got the impression this was years ago). He didn’t have a guitar to test it and it was about 2 blocks out of my way coming home from work. It powered on. Brought it home works great seems to lose volume when I plug in the foot board and the wah pedal has no tension. Will have to figure that out. But for 25$ everything else seems perfectly fine. Probably try and figure out the floor board and flip it. Probably user error and just some tightening. FA0DAEB1-AD24-426B-A15A-9ABA3247FA1C.jpeg

Solo had a St Patrick's Day sale so I picked up some bitsnbobs.

Interestingly, they ship the switch covers individually so I took the doubles I ordered and put them in a single bag of that colour and now have 3 extra bags to organise my ... whaterver, maybe Ge trans...

More interesting is that even after the sale price, SynthBearSmallCube's price is slightly more competitive.
YET MORE interesting is that while StompBoxParts' REG price is slightly less than double that of Solo/SB-SC ... BUT, you get 10!

Buy one switch tip for about 62¢, or get 10 tips for a Buck.

Then a roll of tinned solid core, because of @jhaneyzz.

A black stripboard so I won't hate my next stripboard build as much as the fugly beige stripboards.

A JenYouWhine MXR knob-cozy, 'cause it was cheap and I may actually use it on my eventual Phase 90 build.

Charge Pump screw mount will definitely find a use, as I'm sure somewhere in my notes is a tight build that I want CHARGED.

MK1 Bender Board, but I'll use the eyelets pictured, but I ordered too few and need to order some more.
(Next sale, I suppose, down the queue this goes).

Lastly, a trad-style Fuzz Face board, but in black for better MOJO — inspired by @Phil hodson's fuzz build on a PigeonFX board.
I love going to Solo’s store. If you get the chance to go there def do. Cool staff and a TON of toys.

What a cool enclosure, too! Did you order that from Amplifyfun, too?

It’s a Gorva S90 in chameleon finish that I got from Love My Switches. They typically drop ship straight to Amplifyfun overnight since both are in SE Portland. Spencer at AF can handle procuring enclosures from any of the usual suspects for you too as well though. But I do a fair amount of business with him and figure keeping it simple on his end is the best call.

Well think I’ve got it fully diagnosed. Has two bad pots that just turn and turn and turn don’t effect anything. And the volume expression pedal has a plastic piece that feeds through that has gotten bent so it doesn’t feed through right and ends up stuck at min volume. Anyone know what it’s called? In the pic someone attached a zip tie to it…

Did I need this? No. But did I find a killer deal on it? Also no.

Why then did I buy it? Hubris.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again. It is an absolute injustice that Korg didn’t partner up with Nintendo to produce a KK Slider pedal using the Miku’s vocaloid engine to commemorate the 20th anniversary of Animal Crossing back in 2021.

Would love to, but I'm at the other end of the country.

I tried one in the store, and thought "I'll never pay full retail for this, I have no real use for it. I'll wait until it's on sale or more likely in the clearance bin, then MAYBE get it...". Oh how wrong I was, they never went on sale... By the time I figured out how I would actually use it, they were sold out and commanding big prices.

I'm jealous.

My friends got a Line6 amp and foot-controller.

He gets people calling him asking if he wants to sell the foot-controller, but he's not selling it nor has he ever advertised it for sale — so how the hell are people finding out he has it and calling him?

Forums, probably forums and word of mouth through old band/music circles.

"Hey, heard you still have that foot-controller..."

25bucks — What a great score, Locrian99!

Another piece of the pending frankenbass. I had Mr. Mojo give the rprw treatment to this to get some hum cancelation with the serek b90 imma order soon. I'm still torn between 3 covers. Chrome tbird would match the mudbucker (neck) cover, black soapbar would match this Mojo Jazzbasster (bridge) but I'm leaning cream dogear right now At least I know I don't want white.

Also delivered from ppcb Skeptical Buffer, Octuplet, and Seafarer. Also some pt2399, 2 knob job boards and a paramix from guitarpcb.

Edit: I slapped the seafarer together real quick since I definitely had everything for it on hand. For so few parts, it's a surprisingly nice sounding fuzz. No face melting, not terribly versatile but definitely worth bashing together if you're curious.
