What's in the mailbox? 📬 📦

I agree. I need all toans waiting and ready.

It looks I got lucky, that package made it into customs on the day of the CA post strike.

I think I’m most excited about the dynamorph.
+1 on the Tatiana. Let us know how your Dynamorph turns out. There is a thread (maybe a couple) concerning the biasing and the envelope section not working right in the build (mine included).

Thanks for the head's up- I just read that 3 page troubleshooting thread.

I've been noticing lately how much money I waste on ordering boards for unverified designs so I wanted a better way to prototype things at home. Found this LPKF S63 on eBay and scored a deal because nobody else bid on it. It will likely take a bit of work to get it running, but when it's up it will be killer.

I am happy(ish) to report that after 2 days and 2 years of off and on troubleshooting I think I have it working (in theory). After verifying all parts (again), reflowing all the joints (again), hardwiring the expression jack pads, swapping the pn2222 for a 2n2222, replacing all ICs, replacing the vactrol twice (ending up with a home rolled 5529 LDR and green LED non shrink wrapped), replacing the 10k trimmer with a 25k, And countless rebiasings and tweakings although the red LEDs are barely visible, my vactrol LED is actually responding (helps that I can actually see the LED) to pick attack and the rate knob does effect how quickly it responds. That said….i can barely hear a difference when morph is on. I’m just happy I can close the book on it. I hope yours goes a little more straight forward.

Basically a fancy CNC machine specifically designed for milling PCBs. Auto tool-changing, camera with fiducial recognition, automated solder paste dispenser, etc. It's an absurdly well-designed machine.
So it makes single sided prototype boards, is that what you’re saying?

Blades and soap to last a while

1000008978.jpg

Used to use Williams mug shaving soap, but COVID was the last straw, and they are no more, sadly. Best soap I tried. They went for $1.50 a puck at WinCo and never thought I'd reach the bottom of that purchase. Now we're here and I wanted to try Arko. And boyo the reviews didn't lie, these things smell more than slightly of urinal cakes. Maybe it goes away after you open it…

I really wanted to keep the box, but it got destroyed in the bubble mailer. What's weird is that the razors shipped in a separate box, but it was a box. No idea why they didn't put the soap in one, too. Logistics! How do they work? I don't.
