What's on the drawing board? 🎨🖌️

I've got a few in on their way back from Tayda.
  1. Tom III (Tommy)
  2. Benson Preamp (Son of Ben)
    1. I am building several preamps that have differences in knobs, labels, and names, so I'm going to use the same basic design. I have a half-baked idea of making an amp-in-a-box or a cab sim so I'm testing the preamp section if you will.
  3. Horse-Man Overdrive (Kliche SE) Mostly wanted to draw a silly cartoon for this one! You ever notice Centaurs have 6 limbs?
  4. Noise Knight (Muffler) This is my second go-round of this one. I am going to use the line cutting tool to cut out the sword, and somehow put the LED behind it so the sword glows when it's on. Unfortunately the first time I forgot to purchase the drill service 🤦‍♂️
  5. Slocab (UniCab) This one is not going to come back looking good. I ordered an extra 6 knob 125b bare enclosure for prototypes, assembly, etc and unfortunately I chose that enclosure when I set up the print job. Super frustrating when you realize moments after that you messed up and there's no going back. I'm thinking about putting an XLR out into it anyway so maybe it will just have to be ugly and I can monkey around with it.
  6. Smooth Operator (General Tso)

This is for a friend- a dual Cheesemonger/Kliche Boost. I didn't pick the name, he did. I'm going for an Old Testament wrath of god and destruction theme without being religious. Or I attempted. I'm not decided on the knobs or LEDs yet, but I do like these proportions on larger pedals.

Honestly getting 9/11 vibes here, but that may be the traumatized millennial in me.

It more reminds me of bombed out European cities during WW2. I had to use two buildings for symmetry sake, but I do wonder how it would look with the left one removed. 🤔
Not a fan of gods who smite (or gods in general) but you gotta do what your client wants.
Meanwhile all I can think of is Ukraine but it's hard to escape since it's right next door to us.

I do like how the horizontal rhythm but I would thin the lines in the buildings and smoke to make them recede in the background a bit. It would give it more depth. And the colors would also get lighter as they'd fade into the distance.

I'm not either, and the title came from something that Jason Isbell said about combining a couple of pedals. Thanks for the advice- you're exactly right. I darkened the rubble up close and did some work with the gloss layer to enhance it a bit also.

@KR Sound did you draw that?

I bought a license for the original vector image from an artist and tweaked it quite a bit.

I’ve been working on a laser engraved faceplate for my KOT build. I’ve been testing prototypes with cheap acrylic boards but I will print the final version on a two tone acrylic board from inventables.com.
Here’s my most recent prototype:

The words are a bit too close to the pots so I’ll move those 1mm or so. But I’m pretty happy with the prototypes of far, I think I’ll use the actual material next after I test it.

Looks great! Are you planning on using an LED to catch the etching?

Sweet! I've seen some examples of laser etching on multilayer powdercoat that looked killer. One of way too many rabbit holes that beckon... ;)

Just starting out on two obscure circuits from DeadEndFX . . . .
an "Andamento" (Last Gasp Labs "Tone Mosaique" - bitcrusher, ring modulation, tremolo, & envelope filter)
and a "Meta Morph" (Last Gasp Lab "Transroom" - short reverb, with a modulation angle - using two very uncommon Panasonic MN3011 BBD chips)

I'm pursuing the "Andamento" because of its "weirdness" factor. And the "Meta Morph" because it uses two MN3011 BBD chips - an unobtanium device that I happen to have a few of and the fact that the Rockman X100 uses the MN3011 BBD for its 'Echo' effect. Each use uncommon enclosure sizes (1590BBS & 1590BBJ) that I was able to find on Mouser in powder coat black.

TBH, I have no clue yet what the graphics themes will be for each. But I'm thinking something graphically related to each. Some sort of geometric maze for the Andamento perhaps. I'm leaning towards something like this for the background . . .

And for the Meta Morph, probably some distant echo, vaguely related recall of Rockman gear aesthetics. I'll probably have better ideas once I audit the circuits before I box them. I think they present a good challenge.

Got the drawing bug again last night and chose to wrap up a couple more design mockups. I give you the "Binaura" and the "Andamento".

This Binaura build (another fine PedalPCB production) is just going to be my final test platform stereo FV-1 patch creation & auditing. Ergo the generic labeling.
This is one of the last DIY pedals I'll be building with a waterslide. Going forward, I'll be using the machining & painting services of AmplifyFun.

DeadEnd FX's Andamento (a Lastgasp Tone Art Labs 'Tone Mosaique' envelope pixelizer clone) is a noise-maker class build (IMO) and deserves graphics to match. So here's my approach. I'm not settled on the purple fat stomp nut. But this is my first rendition for the build. I've already sent the enclosure and machining/artwork files off to AmplifyFun.
EDIT 5.16.2023 11:02am: Changed the Andamento image for a better background layout - making the whole thing a bit easier to read.

Thanks for looking. Happy building!

Posted a report for the finished product! https://forum.pedalpcb.com/threads/paragon.17161/

Doin' up the artwork for a Meta Morph (Lastgasp Arts Labs "Transroom" Analog Modulated Reverb clone). Had to jockey a couple of pots around from their PCB layout to a layout I liked. (The original layout has one of the knobs uncomfortably close top the stompswitch.) Sending the file off to AmplifyFun tomorrow for a one-off enclosure.

The PCB really fills up a 1590BBJ enclosure. and had to side-mount the DC jack because there are 4 jacks already in the the top-mount.

Still, I'm a bit reluctant to forward the print & drill files for setting it in stone. There's some that feels off about it yet.

EDIT: I saw how there is about 4mm of clearance between using the standard PC mount pots and solder lug pots. So I took advantage of that and nudged some things around to get some room at the top to squeeze in the jack labels. It looks much better to me now and I just submitted the template file for the enclosure drills & paint.
