@Robert - thanks, I sure didn't see that little SMD inductor!! So I am guessing that the toroidal choke in the original is for removing high frequencies from the 9V supply. Wow, that looks like Strymon does a very fancy build - high quality pots, what looks to be a relay, etc. Anyway, again many thanks!
ps: Mouser has a TDK 680ĀµH inductor, part # B82141A1684J000, that works as well.
