When you find someone flipping pedal you built as their own 🤣

Browsing reverb I found a pedal I built for a guy… Did 3 builds for him and cut him a crazy deal because we hit it off cool with conversations back and forth. Found the pedal for sale on reverb for $40 more than I built it for him. Sold it to him in 2022 ..To top it off he said he built it in his ad… I hit him up and wasn’t so nice about him trying to pawn it off as his build… I dont care about the price but did rub my chaps I basically gave it away and he’s profiting if it sells. He went back and changed his ad wording and left me a little Easter egg in his description…

Taking credit is slimy. The comment just seems funny. If he had named you, that would be a problem, but as it's written it seems like it mostly reflects badly on him.

As far as the price going up, I'd be flattered to see things I made having strong resale value.

He changed the listing by removing the lies and adding douchebaggery? Just.... why include it? If the builder was an asshole, why would that make someone else want it?

Maybe I’m cynical, but I see this as someone who had someone do something nice for them (i.e., being sold something for a “crazy deal”—which eliminated already tight margins) being slimy while reselling it. Misrepresenting provenance wasn’t an accident. Dude is being manipulative. I get that fees are a bear, but what did he think @swelchy was getting the first time around?

Oh, he's definitely a slimeball, but I'd still rather see one of my pedals reselling for double than reselling for half. I certainly think they're worth more than what I'm selling them for.
