That's not even close to enough my dude, this thing pulls 700mA from a 12V supply when it's fully warmed up, which means to get it warmed up I would recommend at least 800mA, but ideally 1A if you can get it.
EDIT: also don't power it up with the NE555 removed, it causes the MOSFET to overheat.
This is the reason I have several jewelers loupe's on my workbench, I have 10x, 20x, and 30x magnification just to inspect my solder joints on all my builds.
My loupes are cheap ones from fleabay but they do the job perfectly, I would advice everyone to get some of these because you will be surprised what you will see.
I have found many cracked or bad solder joins on PCB's that came from the factory with the faults, even Marshall, Fender and all the other older amps.
These are the sort I mean: https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_nkw=Jewelers+loupe&_sacat=0&_from=R40&_sop=15
EDIT: I have paid more for a cup of coffee then what the loupes cost so there should be no excuse for everyone not to have some, go on, just buy some.
