I like a few songs but they are too smooth for me.How do you feel about Steely Dan?![]()
When the first 3 movies came out I was nonplussed. Then the hysteria started in the 90s with the sequels so now it's a case of me hating it because people keep bringing it up anytime and anywhere. They more they foam at the mouth for it the more I'm annoyed. And don't get me started on May the fourth...Fair enough!
I still consider myself a fan, but in my opinion the bad has outweighed the good for a long time.
Coffee is the one drink I could never develop a taste for, love the smell thoughThe workbench thread seemed to really take off with all the coffee talk, I figured we could use our own thread.
I mentioned that I was going to retire my Keurig when it finally died.... I jumped the gun (well technically not, it was wasting 1 out of 5 pods).
Yesterday we ran out of pods, rather than spend $40 on another case I just got a good old fashioned Mr Coffee and some whole beans. Now I'm sitting here hoping like hell I can find my bean grinder this morning or I'm going to me smashing them with a hammer or pliers.![]()
Talk amongst yourselves .

That would be a good name for a compressor circuit...

I have always been a fan of Star Trek and the Gerry Anderson shows. And Space: 1999. Anything with flared pants in space gets my attention.
The themes were also superior to Star Wars IMO, with all due respect to John Williams.
RelatableBorn 1990, I grew up on the original trilogy VHS tapes- they'll always be special to me because they're some of the only non-religious media that was allowed into my childhood household.
I understand it doesn't live up to the hype surrounding it, but STAR WARS kicks the shit out of "Veggie Tales" in my opinion.
These days I'm a fan of all things sci-fi (other than religion)
Ethiopian coffees for some reason are so good to me. I have a friend who travels back and forth often and he always brings me his favorite beans.Finishing up this "boutique" Burundian beauty and starting in on some ethiopian beans.
Started learning the Kid Charlemagne solo by ear last night because your post reminded me that Steely Dan exists. It's definitely a cool solo. How do you feel about Steely Dan?![]()
That’s a super fun solo to play! Try learning the Peg solo. That first slidey double stop lick is insanely difficult.Started learning the Kid Charlemagne solo by ear last night because your post reminded me that Steely Dan exists. It's definitely a cool solo.
I might look back to see what your song and album recommendations are for people wanting to see if they like Steely Dan.
Those double stops do look tricky! I will definitely try to attempt that first lick later today. Looks like it would be good double stop, bending, and sliding practice lick. That’s a super fun solo to play! Try learning the Peg solo. That first slidey double stop lick is insanely difficult.
You can actually see Jay Graydon play it here
