My first sale on reverb….

I have sold all of three pedals on reverb and said “ F that” the social media route will be what you make it, I’m don’t sell a lot but I also don’t advertise “ for sale” I just built pedals I would want and occasionally people will ask if it’s for sale. And I have more people that end up buying from me again than one time (I use the term customer loosely because I don’t want be or run a business) build the best you can and push yourself to keep getting better and the rest just sort of happens. If you would buy it chances are so would somebody else…. Just make sure to take payment that’s “friends and family” so you don’t have to worry about a 1099 for selling 6 or 7 pedals

Love your attitude towards this! Thank you for the advice and guidance. It’s pretty encouraging hearing this from fellow builders I’ve set my mind on working through social media as well!

There are quite a few people from the forms and we follow and interact with the larger pedal community on there. Which is really nice to make friends for when you need a part or trade pedals.

Wow, I just listed something on reverb. The "processing fee" is even more than PayPal's normal 3%.

There should be more of a mutual benefit between Reverb and the seller. Cuz this makes me feel like I'm working for them, rather than them working for me, or an even, symbiotic deal.

This is why many of us haven't used reverb in forever. There aren't many options and what was once a great platform for musicians has turned into a site that's really only good for sellers who do large volumes of business. The government doesn't want you to make your hobby into something monetary.

I ended up listing and selling my Ampeg B100-R for $100 more than I was wanting to get out of it, so it ended up turning out alright. But those fees are a bit redonkulous.

I've sold about 30 pedals on reverb this year that I've built for a decent rate.... I just list them for what I think is ok and that i'll make enough to pay the fees, taxes parts cost and a little profit...... I like it better selling off FB and word of mouth better... I'm going to hate myself when that 1099 comes soon...
