What's in the mailbox? šŸ“¬ šŸ“¦

Glorious Monday mailbox.

PCB’s from PeadalPCB
J201s from smallbear
Enclosures, Belton 9pins, and axials from tubesandmore.

The Rob Binette Blackvibe preamp that I slightly tweaked and made a pedal out of turned out so great that I decided to make his JCM800 into a pedal as well. Thus the blacked out Hammond 1456 enclosure and axials. But to be fair I wanted to build a MIB pcb at the same time and compare. @Robert said in a thread ā€œThat is the best MIAB I've tried, and MIAB's are kinda my thing. šŸ˜‚ā€ (Golden Falk), so I had to give it a go and he was extra awesome to throw in a couple Hv boards. Seriously thank you.

WHat are those square PPCB boards in the bottom left corner?

HV boards. They take 9v Dc and turn It into 200+v Dc. With a handy trim pot to adjust the outgoing Dc. The black squares are the pcbs then there are two aluminum top and bottom safety boards to help keep your fingers away from getting āš”ļø. Uses standoffs to form a cool little three layer cube cake of sorts.

I think this post counts as a pedal. It has a footswitch, so it is a pedal. Right?

I did a major sell off in October of my name brand pedals. I had made something better or the pedal lost it’s luster. With all the proceeds, I went for a dream. I love reverb, despite never really making a reverb pedal. I really like the warmth of a tube. So…I got a Weber reverb kit. It mimics the typical Fender 6G15 stand alone reverb.

The cabinet looks great and I will have to start digging into the parts. If interested, I will try to do a build report.

I have had a busy mailbox the last few days. I told myself no new PCBs, but had a wishlist for family to get me stuff for Christmas/birthday. I got cash for stuff from my parents. My wife decided to buy everything I listed that wasn't out of stock from Aion, JMK, Parasit, and Lectric FX for my birthday on Saturday.

20230109_191704.jpg

Aion: T-50 Bass Preamp, Dimension C
Parasit: C19, Quantum Defrakulator, Theremin Fuzz, Into The Unknown, U-235 Suboctave Generator
Lectric FX: Star Chambre, Flyleaf

The JMK order is out there somewhere with an Epic Bypass Looper, Panner, and Paralyzer.

I also recently had an OSHOark order for @Passinwind 's open source bass preamp.

I have been seeing a lot of amazing delay builds and the GAS was building. I was perusing TalkBass' classifieds and found a reasonably priced Sinvertek/CKK Fluid Time MK II. Digitally controlled BBD with an effects loop. The GAS won.

I guess I need to really get on some components and mentally prepare to solder 256 LEDs. @DGWVI isn't the only one gonna have fun with them.

Finally got an Equilux, as well as a dream fuzz (one I kept forgetting about until @MichaelW ’s semi-recent build report), another 6 band EQ, a replacement Celsius boost, and some utility boards- buffers and rotary breakouts.
Also a pair of enchanting Timmy boards from @jimilee, since I can’t resist monty python

How do the rotary adapters work? Can you install a larger rotary where the mini one would be? Or does it have to be in a different spot?

It’s just for breadboarding circuits with rotary switches. I don’t have any spares on hand at the moment, but next time I do an SBP order I’ll get some rotaries and get these breakouts set up, and I’ll post some pics of them in use.

Screenshot_20230110_151526.jpg I put together a dirt dauber for one of my mother's piano students a while back and now word got around to some of the other pupils..... thankfully only a few double on guitar.

Doing another chucklone because it's only a matter of time before somebody else around here will "need" one too. Plus I want to do some diode comparison and my breadboard skills/ supplies are nil. And who doesn't love a funky pot arrangement?

Headphone amp is for me, fingers crossed it farts less than my mxr type headphone fartbox.
